Williamson County Real Estate: Obsessive Cleaning can Sell Your Home

Obsessive Cleaning can Sell Your Home

Luxury Home While viewing a Nashville luxury home that was absolutely spotless, I heard the comment that if the house was this clean, you would expect all of the mechanicals the be perfect also.

Other realtors seem to agree, buyers associate clean homes with well maintained homes, and are willing to pay a little more for it. So if you plan to sell a home in Nashville, have a professional cleaner come before the stager. It will be worth the money.

Great points in this point, be it Nashville or any other city.  Clean = good with buyers.  Thanks Larry

You make a great point that if it's well kept, it's probably well kept in all ways.

Larry:

I agree completely.  I am dealing with a high dollar client who is unable to maintain a clean home.  It does not show well but is extremely nice.   Any tips on how to overcome this issue?

Most high end homes have cleaning services anyway.

As for mary - maybe she can give it to them as a gift!

Larry, I totally agree. A clean home always leaves a good impression with buyers. They are also more forgiving if the appliances aren't brand new if they are super clean.

For sure obsessive cleaning never hurts -- a clean home makes a lot of difference.

Hi Larry - This home looks like the kind that can definitely afford a cleaning service. A spotless home is sure to leave a positive impression on buyers, and maybe even generate a couple of 'clean' offers.

Larry, I agree. Clean, well maintained properties also inspect better. There are fewer issues with mechanicals and other maintenance items that can lead to buyers walking...

Larry, couldn't agree more.  Unbelievable how some folks expect to sell their home for top dollar without doing anything to make it presentable.

Larry - This should be a non brainer, but people just don't get it.  Keep your house clean and well maintained and when you have to sell it...it will sell and sell at a much higher price and much quicker.

Should you need it I know a Chem-Dry carpet cleaning company that has empty house discount pricing for listing agents.

That's an awesome point!  When we sold our last home, it had a pool and I got into a daily habit of cleaning my sliding glass door (with some pre-teen kids that were swimming every day in the household!)  There are especially some key areas that need to be cleaned!

Lee -Thanks for the information, I may need it some day.

Diane - Some people do get it, and they sell thier homes quickly

Gabe - You are so right.

Michael - You see it more than others

John - This home was perfect, and that's what we were talking about
